The award of the Saint-Laurent-du-Var port concession to the CCI on the prosecutor's desk

More turmoil at the port of Saint-Laurent-du-Var. The issue still concerns the awarding of the future concession for this marina to the Côte d'Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) by the Metropolis .
A public service delegation that will take effect on January 1, 2026, for 20 years. This decision, approved at the last metropolitan council meeting, is not to the liking of the three opposition elected officials from the environmental group .
They point out the opacity of this choice, while the two other competitors in the running would propose "a higher investment amount" or even "a shorter duration of work" .
As early as Friday, July 11, Jean-Christophe Picard, one of these elected officials, contacted the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes by email.
"The legality check can only be carried out by the State services upon receipt of the decision of the metropolitan council and then of the signed contract [with the CCI], which is not the case to date. Upon receipt, the services have two months to carry out this check," the prefecture indicates.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, July 15, the environmental group at the Metropolis also made a report to the Public Prosecutor of Nice.
They denounce in particular "acts likely to be classified under criminal law." Contacted, the prosecutor has not yet responded to our request.
