The new face of the village of Ramatuelle is revealed

The commune of Ramatuelle celebrated the completion of the first two phases of work undertaken two years ago as part of the "Better Living in the Village All Year Round" program.

On this occasion, Mayor Roland Bruno gave a speech to an audience interested in the new landscape of the village center, and in the presence of many local personalities and professionals who carried out the work.

According to the mayor, "the objective was to improve the comfort of both residents and visitors, while enhancing the heritage."

Pedestrian square

Place de l'Ormeau is now entirely pedestrianized. Numerous trees have been planted and green spaces created. The new developments incorporate modern amenities: video surveillance, retractable bollards, short-term parking, bicycle parking areas with charging stations, water retention basins, irrigation probes, and solar-powered LED lighting.

Regarding the development of businesses, the mayor specifies, "The municipality is supporting this dynamic through a land acquisition policy.... We have purchased the former Hôtel Bellevue, the château, and commercial premises in the old town center. Four new businesses have already opened there. Other openings are coming: A fishmonger this summer on Avenue Georges Clemenceau, a bakery by 2026 in the current Le Garage hall. All the relocated services—library, showroom—will find their place again."

The only drawback to this major village revitalization project is the postponement of the underground parking lot to an unspecified date. At least not before the next municipal elections...

Regulated traffic this summer: all the information

This summer, traffic is regulated in July and August. From July 1st to August 31st, the heart of the village becomes a shared space limited to 20 km/h , every evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Only registered residents, traders and non-occupying owners will be able to pass through the retractable bollards, thanks to an automatic license plate reading system. To facilitate access, the municipality is setting up a free electric shuttle from July 1st, running continuously from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., connecting the car parks at the bottom of the village (stadium, tennis court, open-air theatre) to the centre (stop at the Memorial).

A private valet parking service is also available in the evening from the town hall car park, so you can take full advantage of the restaurants and entertainment without worrying about parking.

Three car parks are reserved for village residents from June to October: Pont du Curé, Les Muletiers, and Font d'Avaou, accessible 24 hours a day via a telephone call and upon presentation of the annual sticker issued by the town hall.
