Three MPs declared ineligible and forced to resign by the Constitutional Council

The Constitutional Council has just declared three MPs ineligible, forcing them to resign from their posts due to irregularities during their campaign for the 2024 legislative elections.
The following are concerned: Stéphane Vojetta , MP for the 5th constituency of French people living outside France and affiliated with Ensemble pour la République (EPR), Emmanuel Macron's party; Jean Laussucq, elected for the 2nd constituency of Paris under the EPR label; and Brigitte Barèges, elected in the UDR group, Eric Ciotti 's party, in the 1st constituency of Tarn-et-Garonne.
Therefore, by-elections will have to be held soon.
Concerning Stéphane Vojetta, the Constitutional Council recalls that his campaign accounts were rejected by the National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing.
The same goes for Jean Laussucq , while the Sages also accuse him of having third parties pay for campaign expenses using their personal bank accounts.
Brigitte Barèges' campaign accounts were also rejected. The UDR elected official is also accused of having involved staff from the town hall of the municipality where she was mayor in organizing her election campaign. These staff members allegedly worked on their vacation and rest days, as well as during their working hours at the town hall. The elected official alleges this was a personal initiative by her two staff members.
