Which four ministers will be spending their holidays in the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes?

While François Bayrou will spend most of the summer at Matignon preparing for the start of the new school year, a large number of members of his government are preparing to leave Paris after the last Council of Ministers meeting this Wednesday. According to Le Parisien , which surveyed their entourage, three of them will be settling in the Var region. They will therefore not be living very far from Emmanuel Macron's residence, as the President of the Republic and his family will be staying at Fort Brégançon this Friday .
Among the Var holidaymakers: Sébastien Lecornu . At the beginning of July, the Minister of the Armed Forces had already traveled to the Toulon naval base where he presided over the ceremony for the admission to active service of the Tourville, the third nuclear attack submarine of the Suffren class. Following this, he went to the Economic Meetings of Aix-en-Provence where he spoke on the subject of the war economy. For his summer leave, the ministry did not wish to provide us with any further details so as not to be more "intrusive" . "He will surely be present at ceremonies, but nothing has been decided," his entourage nevertheless specifies. "He could go to Rayol-Canadel , to the Staub family property, where he usually stays," believes a local politician.
Before a trip to Reunion Island and Mayotte on August 18th before the start of the school year, Élisabeth Borne also opted for a few days of rest in the Var , once again. "Will she go as often to Sainte-Maxime , where she has family?" wonders a local observer. In the summer of 2023, the now Minister of National Education spent several nights in the heart of green Provence. And more precisely at the Bastide Cinsault of the Château de l'Escarelle, in La Celle.
During her stay, she took the time to contact the mayor of the commune, Jacques Paul. "She called me directly to meet me," he says. "But I had an important meeting, so I had to postpone. We were able to meet for ten minutes at the town hall where we discussed municipal management and other less serious matters. We avoided politics a bit." He adds: "She's a very simple person. In fact, at the restaurant Le 1886 or the vegetable market, where she went, almost no one recognized her."
"In France and always available"The third minister to visit one of the many Var destinations is Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq , Minister Delegate to the Minister of Labor, Health, Solidarity and Families, responsible for Autonomy and Disability. She has planned a week of vacation in the Southeast, from August 2 to 9.
And what about Philippe Tabarot , the Minister of Transport? When contacted, he will return to his Alpes-Maritimes home to participate in "a few patronal festivals." He will remain "in France and available at all times because the Ministry of Transport, like the Ministry of the Interior, requires constant responsiveness ." He will then also head to Savoie, for "normally a real vacation" with his wife and children. "There's always something going on there, " he emphasizes. "Well, not too much, I hope."
Another favorite stop for ministers outside Paris is Corsica . Catherine Vautrin (Labor, Health), Laurent Marcangeli (Civil Service), Marc Ferracci (Industry), and Laurent Saint-Martin (Foreign Trade) will be spending time there. Savoie and Haute-Savoie are equally coveted by Patrick Mignola (Relations with Parliament), Philippe Baptiste (Higher Education), Aurore Bergé (Gender Equality), and François-Noël Buffet (At the Minister of the Interior). Brittany attracts even more prominent political figures. Eric Lombard (Economy), Sophie Primas (Spokesperson), Amélie de Montchalin (Public Accounts), Françoise Gatel (Rurality), and Véronique Louwagie (Trade) will be staying there. Budget vote, follow-up to the Duplomb law, institutional reform... everyone knows that after the summer, there will be no shortage of hot topics.
