A record and a first. Never before has a citizen petition registered on the National Assembly website surpassed the 500,000 signature mark , the threshold at which the Conference of Presidents at the Palais-Bourbon can decide to organize a debate in public session. While symbolic, the possibility that the deputies will once again debate the controversial Duplomb law at the start of the school year is a victory in itself for its many opponents, from left-wing parties to NGOs, including research organizations that have emerged from their reserve, such as the CNRS Institute of Ecology and Environment.
