In the northwest, forecasters anticipate "strong gusts of wind, around 100 km/h, locally 110/120 km/h, heavy rainfall (up to 30/50 mm in 2 to 3 hours) and medium to large hail" in the afternoon and evening.

In the southwest, "heavy hail (often with a diameter greater than 2 cm), as well as strong gusts, of the order of 100 km/h locally" , are expected in places in the west of Occitanie and the south of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. "In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, moreover, rain accumulations could become significant, of the order of 30 to 50 mm in one to three hours" , adds Météo France, specifying that "electrical activity will be intense" .

"In the departments bordering those placed on orange alert, given the uncertainties inherent in the situation, locally violent phenomena are also possible," the meteorological agency warned. Ten departments in the north of France are still expected to be placed on orange alert on Saturday.
