What is the Snow Moon, the second full moon of 2025, which will be visible this Wednesday?

A spectacle always awaited. Wednesday, February 12 from 2:53 p.m., the Snow Moon, the second full moon of the year 2025 after the Full Wolf Moon of January , will be visible in the sky.
As Actu.fr indicates, the observation of the latter should take on a particular dimension since this year, thanks to a fairly rare conjunction, Mars will be visible next to the Earth's satellite around thirty minutes after sunset.
As NASA notes in a February 2021 article , every full moon of the year has a nickname that comes from a book called the Maine Farmers' Almanac that, in the 1930s, associated these full moons with Native American names. "Over time, these names became widely known and used," it says.
According to the US space agency, the Snow Moon is also called the Storm Moon or Hunger Moon because of the climatic conditions that made hunting conditions difficult for Native American tribes. In March, the full moon is called the Blood Moon.
