"The footprint next to the body is Sempio's, it is soaked in blood and sweat", according to the expert report by Stasi's lawyers

The "sweat- and blood-soaked" fingerprint found next to Chiara Poggi's body was " Andrea Sempio's ." These are the tentative conclusions of the legal consultants for Alberto Stasi, sentenced to 16 years for Chiara Poggi's murder, submitted to the Pavia prosecutor's office by lawyers Giada Bocellari and Antonio De Rensis.
This report, made public by Tg1, runs counter to those already filed by the lawyers of Andrea Sempio, the new suspect, and the Poggi family.
Stasi consultants: "The fingerprint near Chiara Poggi is Sempio's."According to the report filed by Alberto Stasi's defense consultants—Oscar Ghizzoni, Ugo Ricci, and Pasquale Linarello—it appears to be not a casual footprint, but rather the result of intense palm contact from someone placing their full weight on the wall. According to the experts, the bloody footprint found on the wall above the stairs of the Poggi home was left by a person who, in an effort to maintain balance, leaned against the wall but did not descend the steps. The person then hastily wiped the blood from their hands with a towel before fleeing.
Stasi's defense consultants reached this conclusion after reconstructing the facts based on a forensic laboratory experiment and a 3D computer simulation. But there's one element that further complicates the crime scene: the possibility that the attacker wasn't alone. The consultants write that whoever killed Chiara wasn't alone in the house.
According to Stasi defense experts, not only was fingerprint 33—which Pavia prosecutors believe belongs to Andrea Sempio—left by a hand stained with blood mixed with sweat, but the procedure used in 2007 by the RIS would have inhibited the blood tests, particularly the OBTI. The lime and the reaction of the ninhydrin sprayed on the wall, in fact, rendered the tests ineffective even in experimental trials. Regarding the fingerprinting part, the Stasi defense experts fully agree with the conclusions of the Pavia prosecutor's office consultants, the head of the RIS fingerprinting department, and the external consultant.
Sempio's lawyer: "Stasi's advice doesn't scare us.""We learned of the filing of the Stasi defense's expert opinion, once again from the media. There's no need to worry; it's a biased opinion that has the same value as our own. Nothing has been confirmed. We're confident that the truth about Andrea Sempio will come out sooner or later." This was stated to Adnkronos by lawyer Angela Taccia, who, along with her colleague Massimo Lovati, is defending Andrea Sempio, who is under investigation for the murder of Chiara Poggi, who was killed in Garlasco on August 13, 2007.
