A night of fire in Campi Salentina: four cars burned, a fifth damaged.

Fear erupted during the night between Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th, 2025, in Campi Salentina, where a raging fire engulfed several parked cars. The alarm was raised at 2:52 a.m., when a team of firefighters from the Veglie detachment responded to Via Calabria, at the corner of Via di Palma, to put out the flames that had already engulfed four vehicles.

The cars completely affected by the fire were a Hyundai Atos Prime, a Volkswagen T-Cross, a Fiat 500, and a Fiat Panda, while a second Fiat 500 suffered radiation damage. The firefighters' timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading further, protecting other vehicles and nearby structures.

Carabinieri officers from the Campi Salentina station also arrived on the scene and began an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. No possibility has been ruled out, including arson.

No injuries were reported, but the material damage to the cars was extensive.
