Alberto Longo: "A season full of successes. We'll be back in Italy soon."

The eleventh season of Formula E has also come to an end. On the occasion of the championship's final round, the Marvel Fantastic Four London E-Prix , we interviewed Alberto Longo , co-founder and CCO (Chief Championship Officer) of Formula E. Many topics were discussed, from the season's results to future goals, including what's new for next season. And that's not all: Alberto Longo also spoke about Italy and the possibility of a return to an E-Prix in our country. A little preview: there's some good news.
Alberto, what's your assessment of this eleventh season of Formula E? "I think it was a great success. The calendar was exciting. The new cars performed much better, thus ensuring faster races, more overtaking, more excitement for the fans. In short, more entertainment. Our fan base is growing, as is the number of people watching the races at home. There are over 190 countries broadcasting Formula E live."
The grand finale is in London: how has the city welcomed you? "It's a huge privilege to race here. London is home for us; our offices are in Hammersmith, so close to London Excel where the race takes place. We're at the only event where the race is both indoor and outdoor at the same time. Only in Formula E can something like this happen. We have over 2 million fans here in the UK. As I was saying, this is home for us. This weekend is sold out. It's going to be a very exciting weekend: in fact, even though the drivers' championship has already been decided, the constructors' championship hasn't yet."
What's new and what are your goals for next season? "The first goal is obviously to continue growing our fan base and viewership at home. We'll have a broader calendar, as we just announced, and that's already been achieved. A couple of races still need to be confirmed, and we hope to do so by October. We'll be satisfied if we grow at least as fast as we've done over the past ten years. This year, we grew by about 30%, and the goal is to grow even more next season."
