ROME – No more Top Ten: Techetechetè, hosted by Bianca Guaccero , ends early tonight, Sunday, July 20. Rai 1's efforts to keep Gerry Scotti's Wheel of Fortune at bay on Canale 5 weren't enough; in fact, they likely had the opposite effect, given the criticism from viewers, despite a strong start to the program.

The Top Ten edition of Techetechetè , introduced by host Bianca Guaccero, was scheduled to end on August 1st. However, Viale Mazzini (as reported by davidemaggio.it) has decided to cut the show to nine episodes, returning to the classic version of the program starting tomorrow, Monday, July 21st. However, Rai has leaked that the show's run time will be "shortened" due to its daily airing, whereas Top Ten was originally scheduled to air only once a week.

But that's how it is, and the numbers can help to understand the reasons for the stop: on Wednesday 9 July the programme had recorded a 17.3% share, gaining almost two points more the following day (19.1%) but on its return to the air after the suspension on Wednesday 16 due to the women's national team match, the results were much poorer, 13.4% on Thursday and 15.8% yesterday, Saturday 19 July, while on Canale 5 La ruota della fortuna continues to travel above 22% share.

Added to this are the criticisms of many users who didn't appreciate the Top Ten version, which somehow overturned a program now considered a summer classic. For Gerry Scotti , the goal has been achieved for now. It remains to be seen what will happen in September when the unbeatable Stefano De Martino returns with Affari Tuoi .
