Drug dealing in Giarre, raid by the Guardia di Finanza: 11 people under investigation, including minors among the customers.

A large-scale drug trafficking network was busted in Giarre thanks to a joint operation between the Catania Financial Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office. Eleven people were targeted by investigators, three of whom were placed under house arrest, while the other eight were ordered to report to the judicial police. The orders were issued by the investigating judge of the Catania Court following a comprehensive investigation, which revealed a veritable "drug trafficking ring" operating in the city and frequented by minors.
At the center of the illegal activity was a young couple, who, according to investigators, managed the cocaine, hashish, and marijuana deals directly from their home. For protection, the couple allegedly used a lookout system and a highly advanced video surveillance system, capable of promptly alerting potential checkpoints and preventing the approach of law enforcement.
One of the suspects, to avoid being caught in the act, allegedly implemented a series of precautions: only small quantities of drugs were kept at home and the substance was constantly resupplied and transferred to other locations for concealment.
Despite these precautions, investigators from the Riposto Company managed to gather a significant amount of evidence. Wiretaps and images obtained through the use of drones, as well as targeted tailings, were crucial. The evidence gathered led to the seizure of several cocaine, hashish, and marijuana, and the arrest of four people caught red-handed for drug possession.
Based on the circumstantial evidence, the Preliminary Investigation Judge, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, ordered precautionary measures, deeming the investigative hypothesis well-founded and confirming the existence of a structured and deeply rooted organization in the area.
