Dubai, Nardi is a dream: he beats Bergs and reaches his first career quarter-finals

From Doha to Dubai in the name of Luca Nardi. The tennis player from Pesaro wins in the round of 16 of the 500 tournament: he beats Zizou Bergs with the result of 6-4 7-6 (3) in one hour and forty minutes of play. Few winners (17 compared to his opponent's 21), but an excellent percentage of first serves and some fundamental aces give the Italian the first quarterfinals at ATP level of his career. He will face the winner between Roberto Bautista Agut and Quentin Halys.
A difficult start to the match for both, in their second direct clash after the challenge at the beginning of the year in Auckland. The first to lose his serve is Bergs in the third game, but five points are enough for the Belgian to tie the score again. At 2-3 Nardi saves a break point, but the danger is immediately behind him. He breaks Bergs' serve and when he goes to serve for the first set he doesn't make a mistake, closing with a 6-4: Nardi with a smile, his opponent breaking rackets. In a month in which he managed to break a partial from Carlos Alcaraz, Nardi has learned to raise the level when he serves. At 5-4, Bergs goes to serve for the second set, but with a super forehand from the center of the court he scores the counter-break. Still in difficulty, Nardi concedes three set points, cancels them (one with a super ace) and takes the challenge to the tie-break. He takes the mini-break, provoking Zizou's anger, fights and closes as he has done throughout the match: with another great ace.
