Foggia, a new service for the homeless and those experiencing extreme poverty is now available.

The tutoring and support service for people experiencing extreme poverty and homelessness officially launched today in Foggia . The project, promoted by the Municipality's Social Territorial Area , was awarded following a public tender to the Aranea Social Cooperatives Consortium , with implementation by the Agape , Le Radici e le Ali , and Arcobaleno cooperatives.

The service will be available for five years and will be located at the Chamber of Labor's headquarters at Via della Repubblica 68. Its goal is to offer personalized support to those experiencing social and housing marginalization. A multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychotherapists , professional socio-pedagogical educators , and social workers will be available to users.

Individual pathways for social and work reintegration

The project is aimed specifically at people leaving reception, detention , or care facilities without stable housing, as well as all homeless individuals. The aim is to support their journey toward independence through an integrated approach that involves not only the social welfare sector, but also housing , education , and employment policies.

The planned activities include volunteering , inclusion internships , professional training , psychological support , as well as school and training reintegration . Patients will be taken care of following a referral from the relevant Social Services and will always be tailored to the specific needs of the individuals involved.

"The Foggia Social Territorial Area is working to ensure access to services for the most vulnerable, to build a more just society ."

Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo was also enthusiastic and expressed her gratitude for the work done: "This opportunity represents a further leap in quality in providing assistance and support to those living in extreme poverty and marginalization. I thank the Department for its invaluable commitment, carried out with humanity and expertise ."

The initiative marks a new step in the strategy to combat extreme poverty in the city of Foggia, with a concrete and structured focus on empowering the most vulnerable.
