An important milestone for Vìola Dauna OdV : the EDVI.GE. project (Education for the Prevention of the Intergenerational Transmission of Gender-Based Violence), conceived and promoted by the Foggia-based association, has been published in Global Pediatrics, one of the most authoritative international scientific journals in the field of pediatrics.
The project, already tested in some secondary schools in Foggia, was praised by the journal's reviewers for its interdisciplinary and interactive approach, for its reference to the most advanced international regulatory frameworks (such as the Istanbul Convention) and for its alignment with global educational best practices .
The reviewers called EDVI.GE. "an example of an important social pediatrics program that should be expanded on a larger scale," stating that "the topics addressed should be an integral part of school curricula in civics, ethics, and digital citizenship."
Volunteering's commitment to violence preventionVìola Dauna President Stefania Di Gennaro expressed great satisfaction, emphasizing that this recognition encourages them to expand the project: "After this important recognition, we hope to see greater participation in the project from secondary schools in Foggia and the province. We believe the role of schools is fundamental in educating young people about respect for differences, overcoming gender stereotypes, and preventing violence in the daily relationships that young people experience," she stated.
According to Anna Latino , pediatrician and scientific director of the project, EDVI.GE. can become a stable tool for promoting educational continuity between family and school , promoting a culture of respect and mutual freedom.
The vice president of Vìola Dauna, Michele Zamboni , finally reminded that the participation of schools does not entail any financial burden and that it is possible to join by writing to: [email protected] .
This is a concrete opportunity for all schools in Capitanata to engage in a structured educational program to combat gender-based violence.
