Real Forio 2014: Former Serie A player Gianfranco Parlato named assistant coach

Real Forio 2014 strengthens its coaching staff with the addition of a key figure. The green-and-white club has officially announced the appointment of Gianfranco Parlato as its new assistant coach, working alongside Carlo Sanchez in the first team. Parlato's return to the bench, but above all, it represents the continuation of a professional and personal relationship that began years ago and has strengthened season after season.

Parlato isn't just any name. A former central defender originally from Vico Equense, he boasts a highly respected career in professional football. In the first half of the 1990s, he made 32 Serie A appearances for Reggiana, where he also secured a historic promotion from Serie B. But his experience didn't stop there: Pescara, Cesena, Ancona, and Sambenedettese—the key clubs that shaped his career—are just a few of the milestones in a long and rewarding career. His impressive list of achievements includes, in addition to the aforementioned Serie B title, the Serie C Coppa Italia won in 1991-92 with Sambenedettese, and first place in Group A of Serie C in the 1997-98 season with Cesena.
After hanging up his boots, Gianfranco Parlato reinvented himself on the sidelines, applying his experience to various coaching roles. His debut as assistant coach came in 2009 at Legnano in Lega Pro. The following year, he joined Viareggio, again as assistant coach. But it was at Pistoiese that he developed a particularly long and meaningful stint: five years between Serie D and Lega Pro, during which he served as a scout, thus broadening his coaching expertise.
Parlato and Sanchez's footballing destinies intersected in San Teodoro. Parlato held a dual role, assistant coach of the first team and manager of the Under-19 team. It was there that he met Carlo Sanchez, who had taken over as first-team coach. The two struck up an immediate connection. A technical and personal connection was born that transcended the pitch and is now being renewed in the shadow of the Torrione.
"When Carlo contacted me about this role in Forio, I didn't think twice," Parlato said in a phone conversation. He was brief, but clear: the project excites him, as does the opportunity to reunite with a coach with whom he shares ideas, values, and a common vision of football.
President Luigi Amato was also pleased, welcoming the new member of the coaching staff with warm words of confidence. A new chapter begins for Real Forio 2014, marked by continuity and expertise, with the Sanchez-Parlato duo promising solidity, experience, and a confident leadership for the team.
