Workers killed in Naples: four notices of investigation served

The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has served notices of investigation on the four people involved in the investigation into the tragic deaths of three workers who died on Friday, July 25, after their crane overturned at a height of more than 20 meters while performing maintenance on a building at a construction site in the Rione Alto district of Naples. They were carrying two rolls of bituminous material onto a roof terrace. The three victims are Vincenzo del Grosso (54), Ciro Pierro (62), and Luigi Romano (67). The 67-year-old would have retired in two or three months.
On Tuesday, July 29, around 2:30 PM, the coroner selected by the investigators (Prosecutor Stella Castaldo, Deputy Prosecutor Antonio Ricci) will be assigned to perform the autopsy on the three bodies. Among the four recipients are entrepreneurs Vincenzo Pietroluongo and Carlo Napolitano. The other two recipients of the notices are Luca Luciani and Gianluca Di Franco.
The investigation is based on multiple manslaughter. As the Naples Prosecutor's Office's investigation progresses, disturbing details emerge. Two of the three dead workers were working illegally, and compliance with safety regulations is one of the aspects of the Naples Prosecutor's investigation. According to what has emerged, the workers were not wearing safety harnesses that would have prevented them from falling, and no safety helmets were found on the ground.
