WATCH THE VIDEO REPORT. The spotlight is on Mittelfest, which will once again illuminate Cividale del Friuli. Tonight, the curtain rises on the 34th edition of the festival, which until July 27th will transform the ducal city into a crossroads of art and thought. It will be ten days of art, culture, and debate.

with the Devil's Bridge virtually transforming into a bridge between cultures, worlds, and art.

With a program boasting 29 artistic projects from 15 countries, 19 of which are world or national premieres, Mittelfest confirms its position as a benchmark for international live performance. Artistic director Giacomo Pedini has chosen a highly topical theme, "Taboos," to explore the boundaries between legal and forbidden, right and wrong, against the backdrop of a Europe facing new challenges and complex balances. Through diverse artistic mediums, the festival will seek to explore the present, marked by conflicts both near and far, perhaps even breaking down some barriers.

The opening ceremony will feature a high-impact event: at 7:00 pm, the evocative Church of San Francesco will host the performance of "The Long Work of Alois Brunner," a narrative that delves into the life of one of the most wanted Nazi criminals. At 9:30 pm, Piazza Duomo will come alive with Cartoon Night, a musical event featuring the voice of Tosca, promising an immersive experience in the atmosphere of Disney fairy tales.
