Amundi and Zurich Insurance launch the Zurich Global Green Bond fund.

Amundi , a European asset management company, and Zurich Insurance (Zurich) have strengthened their partnership with the launch of the Zurich Global Green Bond fund. The fund is designed for Zurich Life Insurance clients seeking exposure to the global green bond market. Green bonds are debt instruments whose proceeds are used exclusively to finance or refinance green projects.
Managed by Alban de Faÿ , Head of Fixed Income Sustainable & Responsible Investment Process at Amundi, and Daniela Montezuma , Portfolio Manager, the fund offers diversified access to the global green bond fixed income universe through investments in bonds from sovereign, supranational, and corporate issuers, with the aim of financing environmentally friendly projects. These projects may include, among others, renewable energy, energy efficiency, pollution prevention and control, sustainable water and wastewater management, biodiversity conservation, and green buildings.
"The steady growth of the green bond market in recent years, reaching €2.3 trillion in outstanding issues at the end of April 2025, demonstrates that green bonds are an effective tool for addressing current climate challenges," said Alban de Faÿ , Head of Fixed Income Sustainable & Responsible Investment at Amundi. "Amundi is proud to share its experience and launch a new collaboration with a renowned company like Zurich to meet the strong investor demand for this type of solution."
The key indicator for assessing environmental impact is the quantity of avoided greenhouse gas emissions, measured in metric tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e). At least 90% of the fund's assets will be invested in dedicated green bonds, while managers will also be able to exploit the opportunities offered by social and sustainability bonds . Applying an active management approach, the Fund will aim to outperform the Bloomberg MSCI Global Green Bond Index.
The fund invests in green bonds that comply with the Green Bonds Principles , which define eligible green projects and establish guidelines and directives to support market integrity. Zurich's investment approach and experience in impact investing are reflected in the fund's investment guidelines, and the portfolio will be monitored by Zurich and Amundi, with the publication of an annual report on the fund's sustainable impact.
