Angelo Campani, Credem general manager, dies of illness

ROME – Angelo Campani , general manager of Credem, died from a sudden illness on Friday morning. He was 62 years old and had been at the helm of the Emilian bank since 2023 after a career of over 44 years entirely within the group . The manager felt ill around 10 am, while he was in his office at the institute's headquarters in via Emilia San Pietro in Reggio Emilia, and was rushed by emergency workers to the Santa Maria Nuova hospital. “The employees, the board of directors of Credem and Credemholding and the shareholders express their condolences to his wife, children and all his family,” the institute wrote in a statement. While “the operational continuity of the Bank and the group is ensured by the existing delegations” and by the control that “all members of the general management exercise over the various company areas”, the board of directors has been convened “for next July 9 in order to make the consequent decisions”.
Who was Angelo CampaniCampani, a long career within Credem that began in 1981, became general manager in January 2023, succeeding Nazzareno Gregori , another historic figure of the institute. Campani was for six years Co-general manager and before that deputy general manager for six years. He started working in the commercial network and then various positions of responsibility.
