Barilla renews partnership with PizzAut with financial and raw material donations
Barilla PizzAut | ESGnews

Over 2,500 kg of excellent raw materials, including flour for fried pizzas, breads and snacks and Mulino Bianco and Pavesi sweets, Pan di Stelle: this is the number that tells the concrete strength of the bond between Barilla and PizzAut , a project that aims to build job opportunities and autonomy for autistic children through the management of inclusive restaurants.

A year after the start of the partnership , the company has renewed and strengthened its commitment with regular donations of top-quality ingredients, in addition to a financial donation , a choice dictated by listening, dialogue and sharing the philosophy of the projects, focused on the main objective of raising social awareness on the topic of inclusion.

To symbolically seal the collaboration, Barilla has placed its hexagonal tile on the famous “ Brick Wall ” of PizzAut, a special wall, where the names of those who decide to concretely support the project find space. It is a simple but powerful gesture, which represents one more piece in the construction of a world in which everyone can find their place, putting work , autonomy and relationships at the center.

The partnership with PizzAut is part of the experience that Barilla has been carrying out for years to build a more inclusive and diversity-respectful society. In fact, the group currently has 17 active Employee Resource Groups around the world, involving around 2,000 collaborators in Diversity & Inclusion projects. Among these, ThisAbility stands out, the program dedicated to enhancing the talents of people with disabilities, awarded with the Aretè Prize 2023. Already in 2018, Barilla had created a co-design laboratory with Hackability , a non-profit organization specialized in inclusive design, to make packaging and kitchen utensils more accessible. In Italy, the company continues to make its voice heard: in Foggia it supports families of autistic children with IFun , while the Castiglione delle Stiviere and Novara plants donated ambulances to the Red Cross in 2023 and 2024 respectively, continuing a tradition of solidarity that also includes the distribution of food products.

“For us, a partnership with Barilla means working fully on the concept of inclusion,” said Nico Acampora , founder of PizzAut. “It is not just a donation, but the development of a shared thought on how to build a more inclusive world, job opportunities for autistic people, as well as opportunities for socialization and growth for everyone.”
