Erreà introduces a digital passport to identify the origin and impact of its products

Erreà , a technical sportswear company, in collaboration with Ympact , a company active in the sector of technologies for traceability and reduction of impact on the fashion system, has introduced the digital passport in its products.

The company has embarked on a strategic journey to integrate ESG criteria into its initiatives and reporting processes, through systematic data collection along the entire value chain and active involvement of the production chain. In this context, traceability is seen, as highlighted in a joint statement, not only as a tool for transparency, but also as a means of empowering consumers , who can thus make more informed choices.

Initially launched to meet growing regulatory compliance needs, the project is evolving to meet the expectations of a market increasingly sensitive to sustainability and product traceability. Erreà has completed mapping its supply chain, and thanks to the integration between company systems and Ympact's digital modules, the collected data flows into the Digital Product Passport (DPP): a digital passport associated with each garment, identified by a unique code, which certifies its origin and environmental impact.

"The digital product passport isn't just a technological innovation: it's a meaningful infrastructure. It allows us to methodically analyze every element of the supply chain, bringing transparency to processes and making visible what was previously hidden," said Massimo Brandellero , CEO & Co-founder of YMPACT.

Each product will therefore be equipped with a QR code that will provide access to a digital archive with information on the origin of raw materials, production processes, and certifications. The digital passport will be available for products manufactured starting March 1, 2025, while for earlier products, a dedicated page on the company website will be activated to provide access to the available information.

The DPP will also offer metrics to monitor end-user engagement: it will be possible to monitor product scan rates, analyzing them by country, time period, and device used. This data will provide a source of insights to better understand consumer habits and strengthen the dialogue between brands and communities.

"It's not enough to talk about sustainability: today we need to demonstrate it, track it, and share it. The Digital Passport is our concrete and responsible response to our customers and the environment," said Roberto Gandolfi , Vice President of Erreà.

Today, the playing field extends beyond sports. With this project, Erreà chooses to play the most important game: that of transparency, responsibility, and positive impact, the company states in the initiative's press release.
