Sondrio – Approximately 500 direct job opportunities are expected in Valtellina related to the Olympic event, with a broader search for 4,500 workers nationwide for the various areas of the Games. The Milan-Cortina Olympics will have an expected global audience of 3 billion people and 670 million online users. Daily peaks of 13,000 spectators are expected in Bormio and Livigno. These significant numbers were listed yesterday at the Chamber of Commerce in Sondrio. The institutional tour "Lombardy Protagonist. Here You Can" (Lombardy Protagonist. Here You Can) made a stop in the city, promoted by President Attilio Fontana and Councilor for Economic Development Guido Guidesi. The aim is to foster direct dialogue with businesses and stakeholders in the region, thus facilitating collaboration between different entities belonging to a single supply chain: in this case, the sports sector.
Governor Fontana and Guidesi, along with Massimo Sertori, Regional Councilor for Local Government and Mountains, and Federica Picchi, Regional Undersecretary for Sport and Youth, met with businesses and trade associations during an institutional roundtable, and then visited several local businesses in the afternoon. " Valtellina will be fully prepared, and these will be wonderful Olympics ," Fontana said.
Yesterday's meeting also provided an opportunity to present to stakeholders the Innovation and Development Zones (ZIS) , an experimental model of public action that the Lombardy Region will implement, inspired by the example of MIND (innovation district). The goal of the ZIS is to promote the flow of knowledge between universities, research centers, companies, and markets. This new industrial policy model aims to support spontaneous aggregations of public and private entities that share a well-defined productive and economic vocation in a given area. "We don't want to adopt a uniform approach at the institutional level, but rather develop targeted responses tailored to the specific needs of individual sectors, especially in a context where economic circumstances are evolving so rapidly," stated Councilor Guidesi.
