Mirafiori, the first 500 hybrids come off the assembly line

Mirafiori, the first 500 hybrids come off the assembly line

ROME – The first 500 hybrids are rolling off the assembly line at Mirafiori. The model, which was previously produced in Poland, will go into full production in the fall, but Stellantis has announced that the first models are rolling off the assembly line. Pre-series versions of the cars that will arrive. “The 500 Hybrid offers accessible electrification and style, demonstrating that social relevance is at the heart of the brand’s mission,” said Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and head of global marketing at Stellantis. “With the 500 Hybrid, we are strengthening production at Mirafiori to ensure the plant’s productivity and meet demand. Our roots are in Italy and it is no coincidence that the two most iconic Fiats are produced here: the Panda in Pomigliano and the 500 in Mirafiori.”

The 500 will have a hybrid engine, giving everyone the chance to choose our iconic little car again throughout Europe and beyond. The 500 remains one of the best ambassadors of "made in Italy", with over 70% of the production made in Mirafiori exported abroad. "The first pre-series models are tangible proof that Fiat is on the right track to start production in the fourth quarter", underlines Stellantis. How many cars will be produced? At the meeting at Mimit in December, the company had hypothesized 130 thousand cars per year, but it always depends on how the market goes.
