The need for social workers is increasing for the Municipality of Milan: a call for applications has been published to hire 19 permanent workers.
The City of Milan is strengthening its local social services by hiring new permanent staff. The Administration has launched a public selection process for the permanent hiring of 19 social workers. They will be employed in first-level services, dedicated to the initial assessment of needs, and second-level services, dedicated to managing more complex cases requiring ongoing support.
The new hires will also be able to strengthen specialized services and support the work of other areas of the Department of Welfare and Health. Qualified social workers can participate in the selection process by completing the online form on the Municipality's website.
The new hires will join the 228 social workers already working for the Municipality of Milan, who care for over 34,000 Milanese families .
"In a context where social emergencies are multiplying and needs are growing and becoming increasingly complex, our goal must be to make our responses increasingly adequate and effective," states Lamberto Bertolé, Councilor for Welfare and Health. " We have done this in recent years, for example, by promoting social and health integration in community homes, and we continue to do so by strengthening social services in terms of numbers and professionalism, to ensure that citizens in need always have a point of contact in the local area, but also to prevent social workers from having to shoulder excessive workloads." The ranking resulting from the selection process will be valid for three years and will therefore be used for subsequent hiring.
