Webuild to complete $600 million in new Diriyah cultural and commercial projects

Diriyah, home to the UNESCO heritage site of At-Turaif, is located northwest of Riyadh and is set to become one of the Kingdom's major cultural and commercial hubs.
Webuild is strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia with new work worth approximately $600 million (100% owned by the Webuild Group) as part of the Diriyah Square project . This brings the total value of the works entrusted to Webuild by the Diriyah Company in recent years for the transformation of Diriyah to approximately $2 billion. Diriyah, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif, is located northwest of Riyadh and is set to become one of the Kingdom's main cultural and commercial hubs.
"We are proud to contribute to a project of such great symbolic and strategic value for Saudi Arabia. Our presence in the Kingdom is further strengthened by a project that will have a positive impact on the region and local communities. We look forward to the completion of this new phase of Diriyah Square, a key component of an iconic project," Webuild CEO Pietro Salini said in a statement. "The Webuild Group has been present in Saudi Arabia since 1966 and has completed over 90 projects in the Kingdom. We continue to make ourselves available to the country for the realization of some of the most challenging projects in the world, particularly in the sectors of civil construction, sustainable mobility, and desalination."

The awarded works, identified as "Package 3 Finishing and MEP," involve the construction of over 70 buildings and public spaces designed in line with the principles of Nadji architecture to create a unique, pedestrian-only retail and lifestyle destination within Diriyah Square, covering approximately 365,000 square meters. Webuild is already active on the project with the construction of a multi-level underground parking garage with 10,500 parking spaces, awarded in 2022 and currently 55% complete. Structural works are already underway, relating to Packages 3, 6, and 7.
The Webuild Group is currently involved in some of the most ambitious projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: from the Connector high-speed line, to the system of three dams and a freshwater lake for Trojena, to the Sang Villas urban development plan in Riyadh.
A legacy built over time, which includes iconic projects such as the Orange Line of the Riyadh Metro, the longest metro line of the new network inaugurated last November, the famous Kingdom Center – awarded as the best skyscraper in the world for design –, over 70 healthcare facilities and the Shuaibah-3 desalination plant, designed by Fisia Italimpianti, the Group's company specialized in water treatment and desalination.
