The Best Office Chairs on Amazon

- Adjustable lumbar suppport
- 360-Degree Arms
- Adjustable height with a wide range
- Expensive but you get what you pay for
- And assembly costs an additional $100
If you're going to spend $1,500 on a chair, you better make it a good one. All things considered that's not an egregious amount for something you will presumably sit in for 40 hours a week for years on end (and that's if you also don't use it for gaming). Which you could, because the Steelcase Gesture chair is the definition of built to last. Every part of it is built to last, from the lumbar-supporting seat to the adjustable arms. This is a chair worth the investment.

For a more affordable take on the modern ergonomic desk chair, turn to Branch. The Verve Chair has a lot of the same qualities we love in the Steelcase Gesture, only it's a third of the price. If you have persistent spine, back, or neck pain, this is one of the best chairs to help you manage that every single day. It's soft, yet supportive. The only gripe we have are the arm rests. You can't move 'em and they aren't very comfortable to begin with.

More love here for Branch and it's for none other than the gorgeous Daily Chair. It lives up to the name.
For an office chair that just does the job simply and effectively, there's no other choice. It has an adjustable height, recline, and tilt with arms good resting on without taking up too much space and wheels for moving around easily. It's better than your cheap-cheap chair without going into luxe-level pricing.

Me? I'm still sitting in this Herman Miller chair ever since I reviewed one a year ago. I've tried other chairs since then but none of them hit the same. When it comes to daily use, the Embody chair is the best of the best. It takes less than 30 mintues from unboxing to finish to put it together. After that, the world is your oyster. Adjust each tiny aspect of the height, recline, and tension as you see fit. Soon, you'll be forgetting it wasn't built custom just for you.

- Adjustable head rest for cushion
- Flexible mesh back
- Wide seat
- Mixed reviews on long term comfort
If you hate that feeling of your neck getting absolutely no love sitting in a standard chair, this high-back office chair won't do you like that. Rest your head back so you aren't hunched over your desk all day.
It also has 3D armrests for maximum comfort, and the flexible mesh back also puts your body in a neutral, comfortable position. Plus, you can take the cover off the cushion for washing. It's not the most comfortable cushion in the world, but we do appreciate how clean it is.

Weight | 49 Pounds |
Weight Limit | 275 pounds |

- Tons of color options, but we think it looks perfect in brown
- Can support heavier frames
- Comfortable...
- ...but not necessarily ergonomic
- Only the height adjusts and not by much
This is a classic. A well-made management chair that has some soft support without veering into couch territory. It has arms for resting yours and extra padding on the seat and back for comfortable, upright positioning all day long. It's cozier than it looks, for sure, but not necessarily going to do your back any favors. It's meant for getting in, getting your work done, and getting out.

If you need a quick and dirty solution to your new hybrid standing desk situation. For an armless task chair, this Hon one does the job simply and smoothly. It doesn't take up too much room and is just the right amount of comfortable. And it's humane and has a back rest.
The real key here is that it's built to work at any height your desk is at. And yes, the point of putting your desk in a standing position is because you're going to stand at it, but sometimes you just need a little something to lean on. Or you like working from a higher position. We're not here to judge.

Why not go out on a weird note? This isn't quite a chair but it does come in at just $100, so it's in that impulse-buy territory we love to talk about. The Dragonn by Vivo is a kneeling chair that supports your knees and back naturally, using smart design and gravity to help you prop yourself up. It may look and feel weird at first, but soon you'll start using the muscles you shoulda been using to sit your whole life. Suddenly, you may just realize you never needed all those cushions to stay comfortable—you just needed a change in perspective.
