Illuminate Palazzo Marino with the writing “All eyes on Gaza”, the motion in the City Council: “An appeal not to look away”

Milan, May 12, 2025 – "Today in the City Council we will discuss a motion to ask that Palazzo Marino be illuminated with the words "All Eyes on Gaza" , as a sign of solidarity and closeness to the civilian population affected by the war. Also last night the Israeli army bombed a school, causing the death of displaced people, including several children. In the face of such tragedies, we cannot remain silent". These are the words of the Milan Green city councilors Francesca Cucchiara and Tommaso Gorini . The motion was signed, in addition to the Greens, by the entire Democratic Party, by the councilors of the Lista Sala and by the Mixed Group, the promoters say.

“"All Eyes on Gaza" is an appeal not to look away, not to get used to the pain of others, to recognize our own humanity in every child, woman and man affected by war. Milan is a city that has always fought for the protection and defense of human rights – added Cucchiara and Gorini -. Faced with this humanitarian catastrophe, we cannot turn away. For Gaza there has never been a real moment of mourning or commemoration of the victims. We cannot wait any longer: we must react, break this silence and denounce this massacre with all the means at our disposal”.
