Pavia, July 19, 2025 – While filming is underway in the city for “ Nord Sud ovest est,” the second season of the series about the 883s’ ascent , the city council is considering how to capitalize on the resounding success of the first series, which was filmed in 2023 and aired last fall, garnering enormous public acclaim. “ They Killed Spider-Man – The True Story of the 833s,” produced by Groenlandia, was the most-watched TV series of the last eight years. And Pavia has made a great impression on the small screen. For this reason, the city council, led by Mayor Michele Lissia, has decided to organize an event , “The Night of Spider-Man,” to be held in September.
€30,000 has been allocated for the organization. Budget Councilor Matteo Pezza announced the announcement to the City Council on Thursday evening, sparking controversy . "The event-series will be screened," Pezza said, "but there will also be concerts throughout the city and an interview with the director. We intend to promote Pavia, the birthplace of 883."
“I hope the evening is a success,” said Eugenia Marchetti (Lega) , “and that it brings prestige and prominence to Pavia, but perhaps it would have been nice to have a little more money for this event .” Lidia Decembrino of Pavia ideale had a different opinion: “The city can’t rely solely on the 883. I would have expected other artists like Drupi, Ron, and local groups to be given greater recognition.”
Giuseppe Arcuri of Forza Italia was even more drastic: "Do you really think a television program could generate a tourist return to Pavia? The 883 could have found the money for a sponsorship themselves, and the administration could have allocated it to culture by organizing a classical music concert and inviting people living in the suburbs to entertain them for an evening."
Meanwhile , filming for the highly anticipated second season continues downtown. The first take was shot Tuesday evening, and filming continues in several streets that have been closed to traffic to allow the crew to move freely. No details about the script have been released , but some vintage vehicles have been seen parked in the filming areas, protected by red and white tape.
