In the Abruzzo village of murals, a work on Pope Francis reappears

Aielli, the village of murals Province of L'Aquila, is enriched with a new work of art urban. Laika, the Roman street artist known for her strong civil and social commitment, left a new surprise in the heart of Borgo Universo: the mural on Pope has reappeared Francis entitled "The Guests" already appeared in Rome, in via Nicolò Piccolomini, in the days following the disappearance of pontiff. The work portrays Pope Francis in Heaven, with halo and annoyed look, intent on reading the list of participants at their own funeral. An ironic image and provocative, which invites reflection on universal themes and very current. "The mural - we read in a note from the Municipality of Aielli - It also represents a tribute to Pope Francis, a figure who has always been aligned in favor of the last: attentive to welcoming, close to the martyred Palestinian people, against rearmament and critical of the hypocrisy of power. A powerful message, consistent with the visual language and thinking of the artist". The one just created is the third work that Laika dedicates to Aielli, all concentrated along the same street in the center historical, now affectionately nicknamed by the citizens "corso Laika". As in a pictorial triptych of the past, the three works they dialogue with each other, composing a coherent artistic path and highly symbolic. With this new intervention, Aielli confirms "its vocation to be an open-air laboratory open, where public art, current affairs and commitment merge to generate culture and awareness".
