Local elections on May 25 and 26, referendum on June 8 and 9: what are we voting on?

The ordinary round of administrative elections for the municipalities concerned in the ordinary statute regions will take place on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May.
On Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June, coinciding with the possible run-off round of the local elections, citizens are called to participate in the 5 popular abrogative referendums called on as many questions regarding labor regulations and citizenship.
In both rounds of voting, voting will be possible on Sunday from 7:00 to 23:00 and on Monday from 7:00 to 15:00.
Local electionsOn Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May, people will vote in the administrative elections in the ordinary statute Regions : they will therefore vote for the direct election of the mayor and for the renewal of the municipal councils.
Municipalities to vote on 25 and 26 May 2025
The possible run-off round will take place on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June.
Polls are open on Sundays from 7 am to 11 pm and on Mondays from 7 am to 3 pm. Numerous municipalities in the special statute regions will also be voting on the following dates: in Friuli-Venezia Giulia on Sunday 13 and Monday 14 April, with a possible run-off on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 April; in Sardinia on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June, with a possible run-off on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 June; in Sicily on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 May, with a possible run-off on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June; in Trentino-Alto Adige on Sunday 4 May, with a possible run-off on Sunday 18 May.
The abrogative referendums of 8 and 9 JuneOn Sunday 8 and Monday 9 June, Italian citizens are called to express their opinion on the abrogative referendums relating to 5 questions on the subject of work and citizenship.
Voting is possible on Sunday from 7:00 to 23:00 and on Monday from 7:00 to 15:00.
The quorum . For the popular referendum to be valid, half of those entitled to vote plus one (50% plus 1) must go to the polls.
This is what is established in Article 75, paragraph IV of the Constitution which literally states: " The proposal subject to referendum is approved if the majority of those entitled to vote have participated in the vote, and if the majority of validly cast votes is reached".

«Do you want the repeal of Article 8 of Law No. 604 of 15 July 1966, containing “Rules on individual dismissals”, as replaced by Article 2, paragraph 3, of Law No. 108 of 11 May 1990, limited to the words: “between one”, the words “and a maximum of 6” and the words “The maximum amount of the aforementioned compensation may be increased up to 10 months’ salary for employees with seniority of more than ten years and up to 14 months’ salary for employees with seniority of more than twenty years, if employed by an employer who employs more than fifteen employees.”?»
