The Bsw candidate for chancellor had spoken at the last Constituent Assembly of the M5s. Her party did not pass the 5 percent threshold and was not elected

Sahra Wagenknecht had received much applause when she spoke at Nova, the M5S Constituent Assembly held in November . And to think that in her speech, via video link, she had said that "Putin must be understood" and that the war between Russia and Ukraine "is all NATO's fault". Pro-Putin, a convinced anti-vax, Wagenknecht was the leader of the German red-browns on whom Giuseppe Conte bet. And in fact, in the weeks in which there were speculations about the former prime minister's future outside the Five Star Movement, there were those who had indicated the BSW, the party founded and led by Wagenknecht, as a sort of new reference among personal parties. Only now that we have moved from electoral-poll speculation to the actual vote, it has been discovered that the BSW was not even able to enter the Bundestag , remaining below 5 percent, the minimum threshold to be elected. Which is why Wagenknecht herself remained outside the German lower house. She was an outgoing member of parliament.
And in short, it had been indicated as a new international reference to which the Five Star Movement led by Conte could have looked. It had been welcomed with great fanfare by the Five Star voters themselves. But if it represents a sort of parable or model to follow, perhaps the M5S should now make some jinxes.
