'I came to show my solidarity': Gerardo Noroña breaks down in tears when talking about Palestine

From Palestine , Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña described the offensive against the Gaza Strip as genocide and condemned the attacks affecting the civilian population.
“It's really annoying that you see this and act like an idiot, that you say 'this isn't my problem, it's more serious here in Mexico , it's terrible, what are you going to do so far away?' (...) That they are being murdered, that they are destroying hospitals, schools, that they are not allowing access to humanitarian aid,” he expressed.

The legislator explained that his trip was not for tourism, but rather an act of solidarity: "Of course I like to travel, but I didn't come here for a leisurely stroll; I came here to show my solidarity with the Palestinian people, to demand their right to exist."
He also considered that the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023, could have been carried out by Israel to escalate the conflict: "that's how fascists are."
Noroña also recounted a personal memory : when she was twenty, her grandmother asked her to work because she couldn't take it anymore. Through tears, she emphasized that "it's a pain" not to have the right to exist while others see you as "an animal or a thing."
He noted that it is painful to observe the poverty and lack of access to healthcare among the Palestinian population and condemned the expulsion of people from their homes: "that they are expelled from their homes, from their land, from their country because some powerful men from other countries have the perverse desire to turn the Arab world upside down."
Fernández Noroña echoed the words of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo , who acknowledged the existence of genocide and affirmed that both states have the right to exist : “The position of the head of the Mexican state is to condemn violence and demand respect for the sovereignty of the Palestinian people and the Israeli people.”
He also criticized the positions of the PRI and PAN , whom he accused of promoting interventionism and being "puppets" of the U.S. government, and warned of military threats to Venezuela , Colombia , and Mexico : "When you show solidarity with another people, you are showing solidarity with yourself in the face of a monster. I don't think they don't understand; the matter is more serious."
