A heated exchange between Silvia Lospennato and Manuel Adorni over who ended the pickets in the city.

The debate between the Buenos Aires legislative candidates began with a furious exchange on Tuesday night. Perhaps one of the most tense moments occurred when Silvia Lospennato, the Buenos Aires Primero (PRO) candidate, gave her keynote address. One of her questioners was the current presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, who is the leading candidate for the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) party in the city.
Once the thematic presentations and question-and-answer period began, Silvia Lospennato began presenting her projects. During her presentation, she stated that one of the achievements of Jorge Macri's current administration is the reduction in the number of pickets taking place in the city.
"Public order is a priority for our administration. Just as we put an end to pickets , ranches, and street vendors, we're going to put an end to ragpickers . We're also going to toughen penalties for those who vandalize public spaces: those who vandalize them must pay," Lospennato argued during her presentation. She was questioned by Marcelo Peretta of the Plural Movement, Adorni, and Ramiro Marra (Ucedé).
Then, during question time, the Macri candidate received strong criticism from Manuel Adorni : the presidential spokesman denied that the PRO had ended the street blockades and pickets, and instead attributed it to the national cabinet.
"Silvia, how are you? We're done with the pickets , with Patricia Bullrich and Sandra Pettovello; not you . Continuing with that, you had 17 years to do everything you mentioned and you didn't. What did you do wrong to bring back Kirchnerism?"

Lospennato's response was loaded with gladioli and thorns in equal measure: "Manuel, it's hard for me to look at you at that lectern. You're a good spokesperson," Lospennato began. But then he soured: "But hearing you say that you were the first to defeat Kirchnerism... We were that island against Kirchnerism: we defeated Kirchnerism nine times, and we're going for the tenth. If there's an anti-Kirchnerist force, it's the PRO."
