All Chinese cars, SUVs, and pickups that are (and will be) sold in Argentina

The Chinese automotive industry is accelerating relentlessly on its path to global expansion, and Latin America has become one of its favorite destinations.
In 2024, China exported 5.86 million vehicles , surpassing Japan and recording year-over-year growth of 19.3% . And when compared to 2021, the jump is even more striking: exports climbed 300% .
The days when Chinese cars could compete solely on price are long gone. Today, they stand out for their technology and, in some models, for their safety. But the real difference came from elsewhere: the strong investment in electrification . Thanks to its own battery development and a sustained commitment to electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models, China managed to dominate this transition.
Of the exported vehicles, 1.28 million have already been electrified , and if those sold domestically are added, the number rises to 12.87 million , 35.5% more than in 2023.
This phenomenon is also beginning to be felt in Argentina. With the recent easing of import restrictions, several Chinese brands have taken advantage of the opportunity to enter—or expand—the local market.
Although they pay a 35% tariff for being outside the zone, their prices remain competitive compared to traditional competitors. The consequences are evident in the statistics: according to INDEC data, vehicles became the country's most imported product during the first five months of the year , with a 160% jump in May alone . In total, transactions now total US$1.94 billion , representing 7.6% of total imports during that period .
In Argentina , 17 brands from this country are currently sold, arriving through eight importing companies: Grupo Belcastro (Baic and Skywell), Grupo Socma (JAC and DFSK—only the small cars—), Grupo Car One (Great Wall and Changan), Famly (Jetour and KyC), Ralitor (Shineray, DFM, JMC and Victory), Grupo Corven (Foton, Chery—recently acquired from Grupo Socma—and DFSK), Grupo Empresario Prieto (Maxus) and Eximar (Geely).
