At what time do we know if the Double Hoy No Circula is removed in CDMX and Edomex?

The environmental contingency will continue at least until Wednesday, February 26, as confirmed by the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis at 8:00 p.m., so the Double No Circulation Day will be applied this Thursday, February 27 in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

Due to the solar radiation that increased with the beginning of the hot season , as well as the low gusts of wind caused by a high pressure system, a concentration of ozone particles was recorded at a maximum of 157 particles per billion (ppb) at the Tlalnepantla station, which was sufficient to establish the environmental contingency.

With this measure, starting this Thursday the Double Today No Circulation program will be implemented from 5:00 a.m., with the aim of reducing the emission of pollutants .

However, with the drop in temperatures in the early morning, it is possible that the air quality will improve, which will give you the opportunity to use your car in case the environmental contingency is suspended this Thursday .

For this reason, the authorities have urged people to pay attention to the reports from the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis , and to check with them whether you can go out by car.

The next report from the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis, which will determine whether or not the environmental contingency in Mexico City will continue, will be announced this Thursday, February 27 at 10:00 a.m.

If the contingency is lifted, you can use your car from that time onwards , which will help you organise yourself better if you go out to work or study.

Other times when a suspension of the environmental contingency could be reported, according to reports of past contingencies, are:

• 13:00 hours.
• 15:00 hours.
• 17:00 hours.
• 20:00 hours.

If the environmental emergency continues this Thursday, you should know that you can use your car between 10:00 p.m. that day and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, information that could be useful to you in case you have to move somewhere or have an emergency.

Another aspect to note is that there is a difference when the environmental contingency is activated and when it is suspended , and that is that when it is activated, the Double Today No Circulation does not begin until the following day , while when it is suspended it is immediately.

Why does this happen? According to authorities, this has to do with the fact that on the day the contingency is activated, there are thousands of people who have already left home in their cars , either to work or to go to school, while when it is suspended there are already conditions for people to move around in their cars.

According to the instructions of the authorities , the cars that do not leave home as part of the Double Today No Circulation program in Mexico City and the State of Mexico are:

• Private cars with verification hologram 2.
• Private vehicles with verification hologram 1, whose last numerical digit is 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0.
• Private cars with verification hologram 00 and 0, green sticker, plate ending 1 and 2
• Vehicles that do not carry a verification hologram, such as old vehicles, demonstration or transfer vehicles, new vehicles, those with a tourist pass, foreign license plates or plates made up of letters, are subject to the same restriction as vehicles that carry hologram 2.
• Restriction on the circulation of 50 percent of LP gas distribution units to stationary tanks, which do not have a dry disconnection valve, whose registration number ends in EVEN.
• Local or federal cargo vehicles stop circulating between 6:00 and 10:00 hours, with the exception of those that are in the Self-Regulation Program of Mexico City or the State of Mexico.
• Taxis with verification hologram “00”, “0”, “1” or “2” that must stop circulating according to the provisions indicated in sections 1), 2), and 3), will be restricted from circulating from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The cars that are exempt from the Double Today No Circulation in Mexico City and the State of Mexico are:

• Electric and hybrid cars, as well as those with an ecological license plate or exempt-type hologram.
• Vehicles bearing a valid “00” or “0” hologram, regardless of their use, regardless of the federal entity where they are registered, may circulate if they have a sticker other than green and license plate ending in 1 and 2.
• Private cars intended for clear and urgent circumstances to deal with a medical emergency.
• Taxis can circulate from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on days restricted by the Hoy No Circula Program, regardless of the hologram they carry, in order to support the mobility of the population.
• Urban service vehicles, intended to provide emergency services, medical emergencies, health, public safety, firefighting, rescue, civil protection, environmental surveillance and water supply.
• School and staff transportation that meets current vehicle verification specifications and has the corresponding hologram and authorization.
• Vehicles intended for funeral processions and transportation of funeral services, which have a valid verification hologram.
• Vehicles for people with disabilities that have a Permit to exempt from Hoy No Circula due to Disability, the Disability Hologram, or a license plate for people with disabilities according to the corresponding entity.
• Transportation of waste and hazardous materials that have the corresponding authorization, except for vehicles that transport fuels (gasoline, diesel and LP gas).
• Vehicles identified with a public passenger and tourism service circulation card (vans, minibuses and buses) with a federal or local license plate, which comply with the current verification provisions.
• Vehicles that transport goods or perishable products in units with refrigeration systems, as well as concrete mixing units.
