CCXP 2025: Mexico in the global spotlight

Incredible performances took place in the nation's capital, giving significant power to our lands.

Pedro Pascal in Mexico?

Yes, our country has entered the big leagues. What San Diego, what New York, what London. Last week, chilangxs went wild at the second edition of CCXP, a gigantic convention bringing together Latin American geeks and commemorating upcoming releases in the entertainment world.

This year, the presentations were on a whole new level, with exclusive sneak peeks of Fantastic Four, Jurassic World: Rebirth , and the second season of Peacemaker, among many other presentations of video games, anime, comics, and much more.

Without a doubt, the most exciting thing for me was knowing that one of the biggest films in Marvel history was making its debut in our beloved land, and that its all-star cast, including Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, was there to show off sneak peeks, because Fantastic Four promises to take this idea house back to its glory days. And although CCXP opened here last year, its power really came into its own this year.

Even Scarlett Johansson stepped forward to share an exclusive look at the new Jurassic installment, as she stars in Rebirth, alongside the sensational Jonathan Bailey and the extraordinary Mahershala Ali.

Of course, everything will always be presented first in Europe or the United States, but the importance of attending events of this magnitude increases Mexico's cultural influence and is viewed internationally in a different light. In the era of Donald Trump, this credibility becomes even more important.

Not only is it essential to attend to and praise US projects in Latin America, but the talent we bring abroad is also colossal. The trailer for Guillermo del Toro's version of Frankenstein captivated nearly 6 million views after four days of release, reminding us of the value of a globalized world. We can't change who sits in the most powerful country in the world, but we can fight back with our artistic voices. Praise be to CCXP MX.
