CJNG members rob a family of 100,000 pesos in Jiquipilco; criminal lynched

CJNG members rob a family of 100,000 pesos in Jiquipilco; criminal lynched

Early Saturday morning, the tranquility of the community of Rancho Colorado, in Jiquipilco, State of Mexico , was brutally disrupted. Four alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) stormed in armed and robbed a family of more than 110,000 pesos, cell phones, and identification.

Fear soon turned to anger. More than 300 residents, tired of the constant acts of violence, decided to take action on their own. In a scene that demonstrated the growing distrust of the authorities, the residents launched a relentless pursuit of the criminals.

Attempting to escape, the alleged criminals boarded a white Volkswagen Gol taxi. However, two neighbors driving a blue Chevrolet pickup truck blocked their escape. Upon being blocked, the criminals opened fire, wounding Ricardo "N" and Juan Sebastián "N," residents of the town.

Confusion reigned in the streets. Two of the attackers managed to escape, but Jennifer Karina "N" and another man were not so lucky. They were captured and brutally beaten by the crowd. The man did not survive; the woman was rescued alive and taken in serious condition to Ixtlahuaca General Hospital .

Meanwhile, Ricardo "N" was rushed to Jiquipilco General Hospital, where he sadly died due to the severity of his injuries. Juan Sebastián "N" remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) launched a joint operation with the State Security Secretariat, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army to locate the two fugitives, although they have so far been unsuccessful in arresting them.

The FGJEM also opened an investigation to clarify the facts and determine responsibility for both the death of Ricardo "N" and the lynching of the alleged criminal.

CJNG would use hackers against state security systems

Jiquipilco , located northwest of the Toluca Valley, is no stranger to organized crime. For years, its residents have reported the presence of criminal cells operating in the Ñate Hill region.

One of the most devastating activities has been illegal logging, which has destroyed more than 70 hectares of Oyamel forests, even affecting areas critical for the monarch butterfly. Despite constant complaints and the presence of federal forces, the problem persists, generating outrage and despair among residents.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel 's influence in the State of Mexico has been growing. According to official reports, the group has consolidated its presence in key municipalities in the Valley of Mexico, such as Cuautitlán Izcalli , Coacalco , and Atizapán , and has expanded into eastern areas such as Ixtapaluca and Chalco .

Their attempted expansion into the southern region has sparked clashes with other criminal organizations, especially La Familia Michoacana . The recent attack in Jiquipilco is just one reflection of the grave risk the civilian population faces in these territorial disputes.

CJNG and the credibility crisis in Mexico's police and security forces

The brutal incident in Rancho Colorado exposes an alarming reality: communities fed up with violence feel they have no choice but to take justice into their own hands. In Jiquipilco, the pent-up rage sparked a tragedy that today shakes not only the State of Mexico but the entire country.

While authorities search for the fugitives and assess responsibility, the people of Jiquipilco face a difficult question: how can they restore peace when the law seems powerless?
