Donald Trump says Musk has 'lost his mind' and isn't interested in dialogue for now.

US President Donald Trump said Friday that his now-former ally Elon Musk has "lost his mind" and that while the tech mogul wants to talk to him after their public rift on Thursday, the president is "not particularly" interested in engaging in dialogue.
In a telephone interview with ABC News this morning, Trump reacted to reports of a call between the two scheduled for today. "You mean the man who lost his mind?" the New Yorker asked.
The president indicated that Musk wants to talk to him, but that for now he's "not particularly interested" in closing the gap between them.
These statements come a day after a bitter exchange on social media that included Trump threatening to suspend Musk's multimillion-dollar government contracts and the South African accusing the president of not winning the 2024 election without his support.
According to ABC News, people close to the Republican said the Republican leader seemed more "disappointed" than angry about the split.
An administration official told the network that Trump would be considering giving away or even selling the Tesla. which he bought during the unprecedented event he organized at the White House in March to support the magnate's electric car company amid attacks on dealerships and charging stations, along with falls in revenue and the stock market.
For the time being, the car remained parked this Friday morning in the parking lot of the executive residence.
According to CNN, Trump "isn't even thinking" about Musk and won't speak to him "for a while."
The clash began Thursday at noon with the president's remarks in response to the world's richest man's criticism of the Republican-backed fiscal and budget plan, which is estimated to increase the country's public debt by more than $2 trillion.
According to the tycoon, this "undermines" his work to reduce waste in the federal government as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, from which he formally resigned last week.
Musk even claimed that Trump was listed in the files of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which allegedly include the names of his accomplices, in a further escalation of the public confrontation.
The president, in turn, claimed that Musk had gone "CRAZY" and continued to defend his "big, beautiful bill," now under debate in the Senate.
"I don't mind Elon turning on me, but he should have done it months ago. This is one of the best bills ever introduced in Congress. It's a record," he wrote on his Truth Social network on Thursday.
