This Wednesday, President Claudia Sheinbaum offers her press conference from the National Palace.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport presented the works planned and those that will continue this year in several states of the country. Regarding Coahuila and Durango, two projects were announced.

In Durango, there is the San Ignacio-Tayoltita project that connects with Sinaloa, it has a length of 96.2 kilometers, the work is 92 percent complete and is expected to be completed in May 2025.

It has had an investment of 3 thousand 58 million pesos as a total investment, work is being done on the assembly of an expansion of a tunnel, earthworks and 8 bridges.

The Ministry of Defense is supporting one of the sections and in Durango the last bridge is about to be started, whose piers had to be made at a greater depth, starting the Sauz viaduct.

Among the priority axes, a project is also planned in Coahuila, it is highway 57, in the Saltillo-Monclova section.

With 85 kilometers of intervention, it will have an investment of 7,724 million pesos and the execution period will be five years. It will generate more than 23 thousand jobs and will begin in 2026.

It consists of a modernization to four lanes. For now, maintenance work is already being carried out on Highway 57 from Monclova to Piedras Negras.
