How long will the Mexico-Querétaro Train take ? This is the estimate along with other data that is known and should be known about the project.

On October 13, 2024, Claudia Sheinbaum began preliminary work for the construction of the Mexico-Querétaro Train, as part of the National Infrastructure Plan in Mexico.

The Mexico-Querétaro Train is also among the 100 commitments for what was defined as the second floor of the Transformation, to have a “prosperous and connected republic .”

One of the questions that may arise with the Mexico-Querétaro Train is how long the journey will take , since it will connect the Querétaro capital with Mexico City (CDMX) , specifically in Buenavista in the Cuauhtémoc municipality.

In accordance with the Federal Government's project, the Mexico-Querétaro Train aims to connect the main cities of the Bajío region with the center of the country.

In turn, it is expected that the three main stations of the Mexico-Querétaro Train will be:

• Buenavista (CDMX)
• Saint John of the River
• Santiago de Querétaro

With possible stations or stops in other cities or towns along the route of the Mexico-Querétaro Train , which are still being evaluated; these are the 22 municipalities that it would cover:

But then, how long will the Mexico-Querétaro Train take? The trip is estimated to take 40 minutes, according to preliminary data, since the trains would have a maximum speed of 140 km/h.

The estimated travel time of the Mexico-Querétaro Train could be modified during construction, since the locations of stops are still being analyzed, in addition to the possible inclusion of the Tula station .

As mentioned, preliminary studies for the Mexico-Querétaro Train began on October 13, 2024, however, the start of construction is still pending, although it is scheduled for 2025.

So, when will construction of the Mexico-Querétaro Train begin? It is estimated that it will be on April 1, 2025 , and the work will last 2 years and 6 months, so its completion is expected by 2027.

This was confirmed by President Claudia Sheinbaum in her morning press conference on February 5 , where she added that various engineering studies for the Mexico-Querétaro Train are already being developed.

While at the morning conference on February 13 , the general director of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency, Andrés Lajous Loaeza, also mentioned the progress of the works on the Mexico-Querétaro Train .

In this regard, he said that they are already carrying out reinvestment and environmental studies, in addition to working with the assemblies of the populations that the Mexico-Querétaro Train will cross to learn about the demand.
