Montagud brings haute cuisine from the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands closer to you

Every time the headquarters of the gastronomy publishing house Montagud Editores (Enric Granados, 70) hosts one of its “Magical Nights” (34 diners and a line-up of superchefs who travel to Barcelona to serve a unique dinner), Javi Antoja, the person responsible for the initiative along with Ana Moreno, introduces the protagonists, microphone in hand.
And on Monday, when he emphasized the importance of sampling the cuisine of the Padrón brothers from El Rincón de Juan Carlos (Tenerife) and Álvaro Salazar from Voro (Mallorca) at the same dinner, he took the opportunity to announce a summer break. They will return in September, although the publishing house's space, converted into a restaurant for the "Not Magical Nights," will continue to operate, where the renovations are underway that will transform it, the editor joked, into "the best restaurant in Barcelona."

On Monday, the rapport between the brothers from Tenerife's El Rincón de Juan Carlos and Mallorca's Álvaro Salazar was absolute. Diners savored top-quality dishes, such as marinated blue crab, chicken skin and eel, nori seaweed and foie gras, or lamb neck and seaweed from Rincón de Juan Carlos. Voro's pickled pharaoh, delicious almond, pea, and caviar, or San Pedro and its collagens, all accompanied by a great selection of wines from the latter restaurant's sommelier.
