As every 26th, relatives and friends of the missing students from Ayotzinapa took to the streets to demand justice for the students.
They mentioned that before the end of this week they will meet for the second time with President Claudia Sheinbaum to discuss matters related to the investigation of the Ayotzinapa case.
"Next Friday, December 28th, after noon, we will have a meeting with the president. First, we will listen to the answers that were presented to her at the last meeting on December 4th. It is a very general approach and we will listen to the progress that was made. She was asked about the files that have not been presented to us, that have not been made public and that have not been delivered, the new line of investigation and the issue of the prosecutor's office and the special commission for the Ayotzinapa case," said Melitón Ortega, spokesperson for the parents of the Ayotzinapa case.
They gathered at the Angel of Independence roundabout and at 4:30 p.m. began the march toward the Hemiciclo a Juárez. Paseo de la Reforma was closed to vehicle traffic from the inner circuit to Avenida Juárez.
The contingent of approximately 350 people displayed banners , placards and chanted slogans related to the Ayotzinapa case.
Hilda, one of the mothers of the missing students, is confident that progress will be made in the case at her next meeting with high-level authorities of the Federal Government.
"It is very painful to lose a child. It has been 10 years, they are our children, they are what we love most as mothers and fathers and that is why we continue forward. Next Friday we will have another meeting with the president, we hope that she will have an answer to the requests, which are the missing pages. It is one of the requests we have as mothers and fathers. We cannot remain as if nothing had happened, they are our children," said Mrs. Hilda, mother of one of the missing students.
Upon arriving at the anti-monument on Bucareli Avenue, the organizers gave a speech and called out the list of the 43 missing youths.
After a few minutes they continued to advance to the Hemiciclo a Juárez where the parents spoke and stated that the fight has been tireless and that they will not rest until justice is done.
