Rogelio Ramos prepares a special show for Mother's Day

Rogelio Ramos has a new goal: to entertain moms and all families this May 10th.
The comedian from Laguna has prepared a very special show for this May 10th called "Nomás entiende a chanclazos" (I Only Understand the Flip-Flops). It will take place at the Isauro Martínez Theater at 9:00 PM.
And right in that wonderful venue, Rogelio spoke with El Siglo de Torreón about the event and, with his heart in his hand, remembered his mother, María Dolores, who always supported him in both his professional and personal decisions.
"One day here in this very theater I was doing a show and my mother was sitting here and one day I said: 'I'd like to show you the lashes he used to give me' and she said to me, 'What a liar!' She forgot about the pinching and when she had grandchildren (her children) she didn't want me to yell at them or say anything to them and I said to her, 'But how come, if you were always on my nerves' and she told me it wasn't true. She forgot," he commented.
In this regard, Ramos reported that she became a mother very young, at 20 years old.
"I was born when she was 20. I admired my mother a lot. She was a very hard-working and very beautiful woman. I always had a wonderful relationship with her, she helped me with everything... even with my homework and of course, He always took me to mass on Sundays at Perpetual Help "This show I'm doing isn't about complaining; on the contrary, it's a tribute to the mothers of that time."
Sitting in one of the seats at the Isauro Martínez Theater, Rogelio opened up and explained why his mother sometimes scolded him, and he also mentioned the legacy she left him.
"She would get mad because I fought with my brothers, and they wouldn't believe me. However, I was a very calm kid; in fact, I'd never even gotten drunk. On the other hand, my mother was like an older sister. She spoiled me and always spoke to me honestly. She also instilled in me the importance of being punctual. There isn't a day in my life that goes by that I don't miss my mom," he explained.
I only understand flip-flops, it will become the ideal excuse to close the Mother's Day celebrations, as Rogelio shared.
"Our generation was indeed educated with flip-flops. What kind of psychologist? What kind of nothing! It's a show dedicated to mothers, mothers-in-law, daughters, sons; it's for the whole family. I'm also going to present it in Piedras Negras and on the 11th, I'm going to have another event, different from I Only Understand Flip-Flops, alongside Carlos Cuevas "I hope that tour with the bolero maestro can be brought to La Laguna."
On the other hand, Rogelio Ramos mentioned that his schedule in 2025 has been packed and will continue to be so in the coming months.
"We're touring the United States with a comedian named Pipirín. Last year I toured with Teo González and another with José Luis Zagar. I've been going to Las Vegas often. We're growing on social media, but not because of me," he said, adding with a laugh that his children, Rogelio and Alejandra, are the ones who manage it.
"They recorded me and just told me: 'Now that you're in an interview with El Siglo, send us the link, or the video,' and I have no idea. I'm completely out of my depth with this technology thing," he confessed.
Before concluding the talk, the comedian emphasized his gratitude toward his people throughout the Comarca Lagunera.
"I always mention Torreón, Gómez, Lerdo, Madero, San Pedro, Cuencamé, Matamoros... all the regions of La Laguna that are responsible for whatever, whether a little or a lot, I've achieved. I always say that when I die, my children will still have to thank the people for everything they've given me, and of course I'm grateful to El Siglo for all the support they've given me."
