Saraperos secure the Coahuilense Classic series with another outstanding performance by Jeferson Morales

The Saraperos de Saltillo (36-35) secured the “Clásico Coahuilense” series by defeating the Acereros de Monclova (38-31) for the second consecutive night, this time by a score of 8-3 at Francisco I. Madero Stadium. The home team's offense once again responded in key moments, backed by a solid start by Manny Barreda and an uneventful finish by Patrick Weigel.
Barreda performed efficiently, holding off the Steelers ' artillery for five innings, allowing only three runs and leaving the game in the bullpen's favor. Weigel , meanwhile, finished the game without any major issues, securing the win in the ninth inning.
Saltillo opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run by JP Martínez to right field. However, Monclova responded immediately in the third inning with a three-run homer by Balbino Fuenmayor , who took advantage of a poor pitch to send the ball between left and center field.

The Sarape response was swift. In the bottom of the third inning, Jeferson Morales was key again, hitting an RBI single that, combined with a fielding error by Magneuris Sierra, allowed Saltillo to tie the game at 3-3. Minutes later, Keven Lamas brought in the go-ahead run with a grounder to first.
JP Martínez hit his second home run of the night in the fourth inning, a two-run shot that increased the lead to 5-3. The center fielder reached his 12th home run of the season.
In the seventh inning, Morales sealed the win with his second home run of the series, this time a two-run homer, making it 7-3. Fabricio Macías sealed the score with a bases-loaded walk in the same inning.
With this result, Saltillo not only tied its season record, but also moved closer to Monclova in the standings. The series will conclude this Sunday with Game 3, where it will be decided whether the Saraperos sweep or the Steelers can salvage a win.
