Shooting in Austria: A student killed 10 people at a school and then himself.

The massacre, unusual in this country with a low crime rate, occurred in the city of Graz, the second largest after Vienna. Around thirty people were also injured.
At least 11 people were killed and 28 others injured in a shooting at a high school in the southeastern Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday.
The attack, already considered the deadliest in the country's educational history, occurred around 8:00 GMT at a federal upper secondary school located on Dreierschützengasse, a short distance from the central train station.
Graz Mayor Elke Kahr confirmed that the dead included an adult and the perpetrator, who allegedly committed suicide inside a school bathroom. Austrian police reported that the attacker was a student at the same school.

According to reports from the local newspaper Kronen Zeitung , four of the injured were in critical condition, and several of them had gunshot wounds to the head. Emergency services transported the victims to various local hospitals, while the Helmut List Hall, an event space near the school, was improvised as a treatment center for the injured.
Security forces immediately deployed their specialized Cobra tactical unit, which responds to high-risk situations, along with regular response personnel. The school was secured, and there is no further imminent danger, a police spokesperson said.

A catastrophe alert was issued in Graz , a city of more than 300,000 inhabitants and the second largest after Vienna. The federal government responded immediately: Chancellor Christian Stocker canceled his schedule and described the incident as "a national tragedy that has shaken the country."
“Today is about compassion. And being there for one another. In these difficult times, humanity is our most powerful force,” Stocker expressed on social media.
For her part, Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger was visibly moved: "It's incomprehensible and unbearable. My deepest condolences and sorrow go out to the victims and their families. As a mother of three, it breaks my heart."
The scale of the massacre had a profound impact on Austria, a country with low crime rates and no history of mass school shootings.
