The nighttime cool weather will continue in Yucatan and anticyclones will dominate; what will the weather be like during Carnival?

Cold front 28 is already history in Yucatan, but for a few days it will remain cool at dawn and night due to the remnants of the frontal system.
However, it seems that Yucatan will have an ideal climate to enjoy the Carnival rides , since it will be hot during the day while the atmosphere will cool down at night.
In this regard, meteorologist Juan Antonio Palma Solís points out that an extensive anticyclone in the middle levels of the troposphere, centered over the Pacific states, will maintain stable weather conditions in the Yucatan Peninsula for the next 3 days.
He clarifies that near the surface, northeasterly winds of 10 to 40 km/h will continue, with possible stronger gusts on the coast, which will maintain a cool nighttime environment and even some "freezing."
From tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, to Saturday, March 1, minimum temperatures of 15 to 20°C are forecast in the interior of the region, with the possibility of lower temperatures in the center, south of Yucatan, east, south of Campeche, and west, south of Quintana Roo.
"Certainly, this loss of heat energy during the night, combined with the entry of humidity from the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, could promote fog banks ," he added.
For this reason, he recommends that those who drive trailers or passenger trucks take extreme precautions.
Palma Solís, coordinator of Meteored Mexico, says that the afternoons will be somewhat hot, with maximum temperatures of 30 to 35°C in Yucatán and Campeche, and 28 to 33°C in Quintana Roo.
"If you plan to go to Carnival, you better have your coat handy, since these temperature variations between day and night are the classic cause of respiratory illnesses," he explains.
According to the meteorological analysis, stable weather conditions are expected to continue into the first half of next week, i.e. during the Carnival period.
This is due to the persistent influence of the anticyclone in the middle levels of the troposphere. However, forecasts are beginning to show that this phenomenon will disappear practically at the same time as Carnival, after Wednesday.
" Another cold front could even approach and destabilize the meteorological context in the region," he concludes.
For his part, meteorologist Juan Vázquez Montalvo , from Uady, reports that tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, a cool to cold dawn is expected again due to the effects of the remnants of the cold air mass that accompanied front number 28.
Warm weather and clear skies will prevail , with winds from the East and Southeast, with gusts of 15 to 35 km/h on the coast, and from the Southeast in the interior of the State.
Minimum temperatures will be 18.0 to 20.0°C on the coast, 16.0 to 18.0°C in Mérida , 15.0 to 17.0°C in the interior of the State and 14.0 to 16.0°C in the cenote belt, former henequen zone, northeast and southern cone at dawn.
Maximum temperatures will range from 29.0 to 31.0°C on the coast and from 32.0 to 34.0°C in Mérida and the interior of the state in the early afternoon.
Likewise, a thermal sensation of 34.0 to 36.0°C is expected, solar radiation of between 700 and 900 watts/m2, ultraviolet of 7 to 9 units, maximum humidity of 90 to 95% at dawn and minimum of 30 to 35% in the early afternoon.
Vázquez Montalvo, from the Institutional Committee for the Attention of Extreme Meteorological Phenomena (CIAFEME) of the Uady, released the weather records in Mérida this Wednesday, February 26:
At the FIUADY station, north of Mérida , there was maximum temperature of 32.6°C, minimum of 13.1°C , maximum humidity of 96%, minimum of 30%, wind chill of 33.0°C and maximum wind from the Southeast at 20.0 km/h.
At the CHMDY station, northeast of Mérida , the maximum temperature was 32.7°C, minimum of 13.2°C , maximum humidity of 94%, minimum of 30%, thermal sensation of 33.0°C and maximum wind from the Southeast at 22.0 km/h.
The lowest temperature occurred in the Southern Cone , in the town of Becanchén, with 10.0°C (Conagua data) and in El Escondido, with 11.0°C (PCCY data).
