The Office of the Women's Advocate in Gómez Palacio continues to work to comply with the resolutions and measures issued following the declaration of a Gender Violence Alert against Women (AVGM) in 16 municipalities in the state of Durango, and awaits a new ruling from the National Commission for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence against Women (Conavim), which has not issued any reports since 2024.

"We are still working to ensure 100 percent compliance. Another report was already submitted in which we describe how we're working, including security measures, care, and prevention with municipal and state institutions, and even with the support of federal institutions," reported Hillary Bueno, head of Prodem.

According to Bueno, they are waiting for a new ruling from Conavim, in the hopes of being able to exit the Alert status they have been under, along with 15 other municipalities, since 2018.

Also, the Municipal Women's Institute reported that attention was given to the AVGM, working in a coordinated manner with agencies from the three levels of government , "to address it immediately and a comprehensive report was submitted to the State Coordination of the Gender Violence Alert."

As reported, the Commission has not released any information on the progress of the Gender Violence Alert, which remains in effect in 16 municipalities.

On the official website of the federal agency, information has been provided on the development of the Alert, from its request to its declaration, as well as the results of the meetings of the Multidisciplinary Interinstitutional Group (GIM), that was previously convened and subsequently integrated On the same portal that contains public information, only information related to 2024 and earlier appears, and at this time, with no details corresponding to this first half of the year.

In 2018, the Ministry of the Interior, which then included Conavim, issued a declaration of Gender Violence Alert against Women (AVGM) in the municipalities of Durango, Gómez Palacio, Lerdo, Mezquital, Pueblo Nuevo, Poanas, Tamazula, Canatlán, General Simón Bolívar, Mapimí, Nombre de Dios, Rodeo, Tlahualilo, Vicente Guerrero, Santiago Papasquiaro, and Guadalupe Victoria, in the state of Durango, in order to implement the necessary measures to end violence against women in that entity.
