Three injured in a deliberate hit-and-run near the Champs-Élysées during PSG's qualifying celebrations

Three people were injured last night when they were hit by a car near the Champs-Élysées in Paris, as PSG fans celebrated their team's qualification for the Champions League final against Arsenal, police sources reported.

The incident took place "on a street perpendicular to the Champs-Élysées avenue when a vehicle, in circumstances that are currently undetermined ( a deliberate act not yet proven ), collided with three people," said the Paris Police Prefecture (PP).

"The vehicle was then set on fire on Avenue Marceau , not far from the Champs-Élysées, according to videos posted on social media. An AFP journalist saw a car set on fire on this avenue, and another journalist from the same agency saw a Paris City Hall vehicle set on fire on another street , also near the Champs-Élysées.

As of 1:30 a.m. (23:30 GMT), nineteen people had been arrested, according to an initial police report. By early this morning, the arrest figure stood at 43 people linked to the vandalization of businesses, burning of cars, and assault and injury to police officers in the riot, according to a police union in X.
