Tribute to Piazzolla at the Coahuila International Book Fair

The Coahuila International Book Fair dedicates its 2025 edition to Argentine literature, but within this framework, it was impossible not to recognize other cultural and artistic expressions from that Latin American country that have left their mark on the world, such as the tango.
And within tango there is no deeper mark than that of Astor Piazzolla , whose music resonated this Thursday, May 1, in the Aula Magna of the University Cultural Center in Arteaga of the UAdeC, headquarters of the literary festival.
The concert was led by pianist Alex Mercado and bandoneon player Raúl Vizzi, who performed pieces by the Argentine composer such as “Michelangelo 70,” “Invierno Porteño,” and “Revirado.”
In his interventions, Vizzi offered some notes on the origins or context of the pieces that make up the program, which also included works such as “ Soledad”, “Oblivion”, “Jeanne and Paul” —created in response to the film “Last Tango in Paris”—, “Milonga del Ángel ” and, of course, his immortal, “ Adios Nonino”.
